S.T.A.R.T. II  is a nonprofit, humane organization dedicated to alleviating the plight of thousands of homeless and abandoned cats and dogs. These of abused  desperate situations and pet overpopulation are rescued, spayed and neutered and provided health care by our volunteers.  Emergency and critical medical care, along with vaccinations provided by our caring Veterinarians and Licensed Veterinary  Technicians  at  great  expense and paid for with private and corporate donations and gracious and generous contributions  from                                                                       Max's House.

We foster these wonderful animals, treat them with Tender Loving Care and rehabilitate them until suitable homes are found.

We do not euthanize any healthy animal under any circumstances!

This lifesaving work is critical for many of these warm, loving, affectionate and unfortunate animals whose only crimes were being born, not wanted or lost; animals who would otherwise meet with certain death.  Thousands of beautiful, loving animals are put to death daily in shelters and thousands more suffer horribly in laboratories, pounds and on the street.  Our organization has saved thousands of beautiful and truly wonderful animals, but there are still millions more to be rescued.  With your help we can save one more.

And now a few words from the President of Max's House....

JADE-Main.jpg (29271 bytes)

Hi! I'm Jade. I'm alive today because someone cared enough to get  me vaccinated when I was little. But my best friend Max wasn't vaccinated and died when he was only 10 weeks old of a horrible disease called panleukopenia. It destroys all the white blood cells and makes us get very sick and die. Many of us kittens that get this disease die, but it can be prevented by vaccinations. There are many other terrible diseases like feline leukemia that can't be cured either, but can be prevented by vaccinations.

Max-Main.jpg (30286 bytes)

                                                                 Max
I'm so sad about Max. He was so sweet and really smart. He didn't have  to die. A few dollars for vaccinations would have saved his life. Every  year thousands of kittens who never get a chance at life die of these  terrible diseases because small pet adoption centers and shelters just don't have enough money to vaccinate all of us.

Hears how we all can help...

Send me a picture of your pet along with a small donation and I'll put his/her picture here in Max's House as a sponsor.
All the money we raise together will be used to vaccinate pets in small  adoption centers and shelters. We can't save them all, but if each of us  can save just one or two,   together we will  have saved many who otherwise would die a painful agonizing, and  UNNECESSARY death.

Thank you with all my heart,

Jade   cateyes.gif (1031 bytes)

Amy Urgently Needs Your Help

Amy-Eyes-sm.jpg (103205 bytes) Amy was found meowing and sumbling in the street.  We're sure she was someone's pet at some point in her life because she is very sweet and ultra affectionate. We suspect she was dumped on the street as so many cats have been lately because of the slump in the ecomomy.

Being dumped on the street isn't Amy's only problem. A prelimary examination revealed that she is nearly completely blind. But the good news is we may be able to save what little sight she has left and even reverse some if not most of the sight she has lost - but she urgently needs to see a veterinary ophthalmologist before any more degeneration occurs. But the cost of her treatment is way beyond our means, especially at this time.

Because of all the surrendered, abused, abandoned, and returned pets we have been receiving due to the ecomony,  our medical and emergency budgets are stretched way beyond the limit. Any donation, regardless of how small, will be greatly appreciated and may save this sweet little cat's sight.

You may also send a donatation by check or money order to:

Max's House Animal Rescue, Inc.
P.O. Box 1581
Ridgewood, NJ 07451

(Please be sure to note "Amy's Fund" on your check)

100% of your donation will go to directly to Amy's care.

While you are viewing this page, thousands of cats and dogs are being euthanized across the United States because no one wants them and there isn't enough money or space for the shelters to care for them. Many more are suffering and leading lives of quiet desperation on the streets. The new millenium is a time for hope, for change, and for new beginnings. Spay/Neuter is the single most important thing you can do to make a difference. Please have a heart.
